Lois was born April 21, 1928, the daughter of Martin Conrad and Mable Helmini (Estrem) Larson in Ossian, Iowa. She married Royden Marvin Severson ’49 on Aug. 31, 1947, in Ossian. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2003.

Lois graduated from Ossian High School in 1946. In 1958, Lois and Roy moved to Mason City and opened the Family Bowling Center. In 1962 they added on the Parent Trap Lounge. They sold the Family Bowling Center in 1973 and opened Stardust Lanes in Nora Springs in 1975.

Lois was known all over North Iowa for her delicious grilled hamburgers. It is estimated that she made over 50,000 hamburgers throughout her life.

Stardust Lanes was sold in 1983, when Lois and Roy retired and moved to Sun City West, Ariz., where they resided for the next 20 years. While in Ariz., she was the Stardust Golf Course champion for seven years in a row.

After Roy’s passing, Lois moved back to Mason City and met many new friends at the Senior Citizen Center, where she played cards daily. In March 2015, she was inducted into the Mason City Bowling Association Hall of Fame, an award she so deserved.

Lois is survived by four sons, Charles (Karen) Severson of Peoria, Ariz., Jim (Cheryl) Severson of Nora Springs, Iowa, Mark (Mariam) Severson of Richmond, Va., and Timothy (Lori) Severson of Ankeny, Iowa; ten grandchildren, Travis Severson, Abbey (David) Cox, Audrey Severson, Andrew Severson, Amanda Severson, Ashley Severson, Jana (Tyler) Molstre, Adam (Kati) Severson, Kaitlin Severson, and Connor Severson; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister she never had, Joyce Schneider; and all of her card playing buddies at the Senior Citizen Center.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a great-grandchild, Surrender Peace Severson.

Lois was a wonderful lady and was loved by everyone. She will be sadly missed.
