Alfred Lien “Al” Knudson, age 85, of Burnsville, Minn., passed away peacefully on May 31, 2016. Al led a rich family, community, and professional life in partner ship with his wife Kathryn “Kae.” Al was a lifelong athlete, U.S. Army veteran, successful management consultant and entrepreneur, farmer, voracious reader with a razor sharp intellect, and active member of the Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Kraabel) Knudson ‘53; children, Michael Knudson ‘76 (Madonna (Sabelka) Knudson ‘79), David Knudson ‘79, and Patricia (Knudson) Jass ‘87; sister, Marilyn (Knudson) Peterson ’50 (Francis Peterson ‘49); grandchildren, Carl (Angie) Knudson, Laura (Chris) Douglas, Tanner Jass, Blake and Briana Knudson; great-grandchildren, Silas and Daisy Knudson. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Edna Knudson and great-granddaughter Rosie. Graveside service was June 18th at LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery, followed by gathering of family and friends at LeRoy Community Center, LeRoy, Minn. Memorials preferred to LeRoy Lutheran Church, Luther College, and Wounded Warrior Project.
