Spring 2017 (May 1, 2017)

Marilyn Patricia (Olson) Rem passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on Sept. 27, 2016.

Born Feb. 7, 1932, to Lynn and Alice (Trinrud) Olson in Holmen, Wis. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and very active in the Son's of Norway and the House of Norway at Balboa Park for almost 40 years. She loved traveling and enjoyed a family trip to Norway with her husband, John Rem ‘59, of 62 years. She was a fabulous role model, inspirational to everyone she met, loving, giving, intelligent, caring, and with a deep love of animals, especially little dogs. She had such an amazing love of life and was always ready to enjoy every single day to its fullest.

She is survived by her husband John Rem ‘59, two sons, Jonathon (spouse Marsha) and Mike, daughter Diana (Deede) (spouse Frank Rapallo) and two grandsons Aaron and Brandon (spouse Sasha). She is also survived by three brothers, Charles (spouse Carol), Johnny (spouse Mary), Larry (spouse Mary), sister Ruth (spouse Brandt) Werner, aunt Dolly, numerous nieces, nephews, great and grand nieces and nephews.

She was loved by all of the lives she touched. We were blessed to have such a loving and caring mother and could never have asked for any better. We were blessed to have her touch all of our lives.
