David W. Hexom, 1951

David W. Hexom of Coon Rapids, Minn., died Dec. 30, 2016, age 88. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Ann Hexom, parents Pastor William T. Hexom ‘17 and Charlotte T (Larson) Hexom, his sister Audrey (Hexom) Jordahl ‘48, and brother Charles Hexom. He is survived by his siblings Paul Hexom ‘61, Connie (Hexom) Bolson’45 and Eunice Stoen of Decorah. His seven children: Debbie, Sue Linda, Judy (Nick) Eric (Mary) Mark (Pam) Lisa (Jason), 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. David will be missed greatly. He was a 1946 graduate of Decorah High School and 1951 graduate of Luther College. He excelled on the French horn and was known as “Steinway Dave “ for his love of music. He also sold pianos for many years. He was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C. He was band director in Gonvick Minn., and Prairie du Chien, Wis.
