Paul Charles Schroeder, 1943

Paul Charles Schroeder of Shorewood, Minn., passed away peacefully on Jan. 16, 2017, 95 years after his birth in Postville, Iowa, in 1921.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois (Leikvold) Schroeder ’46. He is survived by his devoted wife, Camille; children: Tom (Jean) Schroeder, Paula Schroeder (Mark Broms), and Becky (Daniel) Cohen, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, stepchildren Pam (Tom) Langseth, Dan (Cathy) Keefe, five step-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.

Paul was a scholar being the first in his family to graduate from college, an athlete having been the captain of the Luther College football team in 1943, a WWII and Korean War Veteran, a teacher in Westbrook, Minn., and La Crosse, Wis., a much-loved school administrator in the St. Louis Park Public Schools and a Methodist hospital volunteer. Most importantly, he was a family man and a good and kind individual.

His memorial service was Feb. 20, with visitation at St. George's Episcopal Church, 5224 Minnetonka Blvd. in St. Louis Park. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Feb. 21. Memorials preferred to the St. Louis Park Public Schools Foundation, St. George's Episcopal Church or the St. Louis Park Emergency Program.
