Dorothy (Hanson) Pederson, 91, of Fargo, N.D., died Dec. 19, 2017, at her home in Fargo.

Dorothy Ann Hanson was born Sept. 19, 1926, to Theodore and Mabel (Rasmussen) Hanson in Starbuck, Minn., where she was raised and graduated from high school. She graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, in 1948.

Dorothy taught in Clarkfield, Minn., before her marriage to (A. Robert) Bob Pederson ‘49 on June 11, 1949. They both taught at Northwood, N.D., before moving to Fargo in 1952. She worked at Dakota Electric Supply Company and the Fargo Public Schools, but spent most of her adult life as a homemaker caring for her husband and children. She was a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Michael (Mary) Pederson, Fargo, N.D.; daughter, Mari Gagelin, Fargo, N.D.; grandsons, Matthew (Jennifer) Pederson, Moorhead; Mark Pederson, Fargo; Caleb Pederson, Denver; Jordan Gagelin, Fargo; and great-granddaughters Caroline, Brooklyn and Isabelle Pederson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Pedersen ‘49; her parents; and brother, Harold Hanson.
