Walter E. Korsrud, 92, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Feb. 16, 2018, at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport.

Walter Eugene Korsrud was born in Glenville, Minn., on Jan. 8, 1926, the son of Albert and Julia (Steen) Korsrud. He married Helen Anderson on Sept. 4, 1948, in Minn. Walter worked as a Guidance Counselor for Bloomington (Minn.) School system for many years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Davenport, daughter; Sandra (Korsrud) Behensky ‘71 (Louis Behensky ’72) of Davenport, son; David Korsrud ‘75 of Maquoketa, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sisters; Jeanne Anderson, Margaret Ripley, and a brother; Paul Korsrud.

He was preceded in death by his parents (his father was Albert Korsrud LC ‘1908), and a daughter; Jane (Korsrud) Nelson ‘76.

Memorials may be made to Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
