Sandra J. (Stueber) Rettschlag, age 73, of Clyman, Wis., passed away on June 1, 2017, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek. Funeral Services were held on June 5, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman with Rev. Michael Schempf officiating. Burial took place in the parish cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown served the family.

Sandra Jo Stueber was born on April 8, 1944, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Erwin and Marjorie (nee Gerth) Stueber. She was a 1962 graduate of Watertown High School. She then attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where she received her teaching degree, graduating in 1966.

Sandra taught high school German and special education at schools in Pierre, S.D., and Port Washington, Wis., retiring from Dodgeland High School in Juneau. On Nov. 25, 1972, she was united in marriage to Doyle Rettschlag at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman where she served on the Ladies Aid.

She was a member of the Dodge County Retired Teacher Association as well as Dollars for Scholars. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewer, Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan. Sandra and her friends played cards and games weekly.

She enjoyed baking, embroidering and crocheting. She loved spending time at the trailer in Briggsville, visiting with friends and just relaxing. Sandra was very active with her grandchildren’s activities and loved to babysit, spoiling them with hugs and kisses.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Doyle Rettschlag of Clyman; two children, Erin (Don) Johnson of Neenah and Robin (Monica) Rettschlag of Waukesha; six grandchildren: Nicholas Johnson, Sean Johnson, Luke Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Monroe Rettschlag and Milo Rettschlag. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Dale Rettschlag.
