Anna Elsa Jass, 80, of Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Alden, Iowa, passed away on March 15, 2018, at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Services were March 24, 2018, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alden with Burial in the Alden Cemetery.

Anna Elsa Jass, the daughter of Herman and Alice (Briese) Jass, was born Feb. 3, 1938, on a family farm in Hardin County near Alden. She attended schools in Alden and earned her teaching degree from Luther College graduating in 1962. Her first teaching experience was in Webster City, Iowa, when she was living with her sister and her brother-in-law. She also taught in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before she moved on to teach in Marshalltown. Anna taught in Marshalltown from 1967 until her retirement in 1996. She was a member at Redeemer Faith Lutheran Church in Marshalltown.

Anna is survived by her brother Victor Jass, a brother-in-law Dean Block and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harm and William Jass and her sister, Margaret Block.
