Marilyn Christine (Hoff) Freeze

Marilyn Christine (Hoff) Freeze, 82, of Topeka, Kan., passed away Sept. 14, 2018.

She was born May 12, 1936, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Ernest and Gladys Hoff. She graduated from Luther College, was a realtor for Kirk and Cobb and an antique dealer. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

Marilyn married Joel Brende ‘58. They divorced. She married John Lawrence Freeze on Aug. 1, 1997. He survives. Other survivors include one brother, Paul Hoff of Minneapolis, five children, Kareen King of Osage City, Kan., Eric Brende of St. Louis, Terri Martin of Plano, Texas, Alicia Mock of Overland Park, Kan., and Mark Brende of Erie, Colo.; two step-children, Laura Ho of Alameda, Calif., and Andrea Taylor of Daytona Beach, Fla.; nineteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Marilyn enjoyed meaningful conversation, good culture, theology, flowers, antique collecting, interior decorating, and playing bridge. In short, her legacy was beauty appreciation.
