Joanne Ellen (Dieseth) Smith, age 89, passed away Aug. 22, 2019. Preceded in death by husband (Jerry Smith); parents (John and Ellen Dieseth); and brother and sister in-law (Robert Dieseth ’49 and Avis (Gilberts) Dieseth ‘49). Survived by daughter Jane (John) Stendahl; sons, Todd Smith ‘72 (Nancy), Scott Smith ’77 (Gwen) and Mark Smith (Gina); grandchildren Kevin Stendahl and Kate (Smith) Hilderbrand ‘02 (Wes), Collin, Inga and Gunnar Smith. A private memorial service was held at Friendship Village. Internment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fergus Falls. Memorials preferred to Planned Parenthood.
