Berne Jon Hanford, 1965

Berne Jon Hanford of Paris, Ky., passed away unexpectedly July 14, 2020. He was 77.

Berne was a graduate of West Rockford (Ill.) High School and awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, in 1965 and later served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971.

Berne is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Hazel Hanford, his sister Alice Hanford (Rockford, Ill.), his brother Ted Hanford (Port St. Lucie, Fla.), in-laws Walter and Betty Hofmeister (Salem, Ohio). Berne is survived by his wife Kathryn (Paris, Ky.), son Jesse (Cincinnati), daughter Joy and son-in-law Dr. Alfredo Manuel Feliciano Pereira (Guimarães, Portugal), three grandchildren: Cole Hanford, Henrique José Hanford Pereira, and Amália Sofia Hanford Pereira; brother Pastor David (Zeke) Hanford (Colombia, S.C.), sister Mary Gage (Louisville, Tenn.) and his beloved sisters and brothers-in-law Harry and Cathy Hofmeister (Salem, Ohio), George and Kay Hofmeister (Cornelius, N.C.), Kirk Hofmeister (Salem, Ohio) and his 42 nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
