Craig Michael Nordmoe

Craig Michael Nordmoe, dearly beloved of his family and friends, passed away on Feb. 18, 2021.

Craig was born to Marianne (Cowan) Nordmoe and Ronald Nordmoe on Nov. 26, 1961, in Rockford, Ill. He joined his older brother Gary and home and soon had a younger brother, Brian. The family moved to Decorah, Iowa, where Craig graduated from high school and went on to school at Luther College.

He met his wife Robin at Luther in 1980. The two eventually married on March 28, 1989, and were known to joke, “Well, we didn’t want to rush into anything.” They moved to Plainview, Minn., and brought three sons into the world; Paul (1992), Peter (1994), and Isaac (1995). The family moved to their current Mt. Vernon home in 2001.

Craig has always been devoted to his family, and to their care and comfort. He leaves in our hearts a shining example of faithfulness, generosity, and self-sacrificing love. His constant concern for the feelings and needs of others dominated all of his relationships, making him beloved among family, friends and co-workers. It must also be said that he always had a talent for when and what to say to make us laugh, be it ridiculous or raunchy.

Craig is survived by his wife Robin (Bailey) Nordmoe ‘84, sons Paul and Isaac, his parents Ron and Marianne Nordmoe, and his brothers Gary Nordmoe ‘81 (Melody) and Brian (Jennifer) Nordmoe. He is preceded in death by his son Peter Bailey Nordmoe.

Due to COVID restrictions, interment will be announced at a later date.
