Paul Nordvig, 89, recently of Reno, Nev., passed away peacefully on Jan. 24, 2022, of natural causes. Born in Chicago, he grew up in Northern Illinois graduating from Capron/North Boone High School and Luther College with an Accounting degree. After serving in the U.S. Army, including time in Okinawa, Japan, he returned to Rockford and worked for the Rockford newspapers. In 1963 he moved his family to Marin County, Calif., and returned to Rockford in 1968 to become Administrator of Rockford Clinic. About 20 years later, he and partner Paul Mastrangeli, started a medical group management firm with clients in the northern Midwest.

In 1956 he married his high school sweetheart, Donna Askeland, and had two children Linda and Larry. He was preceded in death by Donna, who passed away in Feb. of 2020, parents Viggo and Alpha and sister, Marie. He is survived by his children, five grandchildren, Lauren, Paul (Lyn), Daniel, Kari Nordvig and Eric Spitzer, a great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
