Packed (mostly) and (very) ready to go!

Guten tag! My name is John Lof, and I have the pleasure of bringing you along as we take our trip to Germany. I am a senior political science major from Grinnell, Iowa, and have been involved in a variety of organizations on campus from Student Senate to Collegiate Chorale. Luther's emphasis on engaging and exploring areas outside our own discipline encourages students to see a wider breadth of our world. Our course, the Reformation and the music of Bach, will provide another rich learning experience we can't wait to share with you.

In just a few days we will leave from Chicago's O'Hare airport and make our way to Germany. Starting in Berlin, we will spend a few days in each city before moving onto the next. We'll visit places like Wittenberg to see where Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses, and Leipzig, Bach's home for the last 30 years of his life. Through visiting these cities we will explore the Reformation and its influence on the music of Bach. What says Luther College more than studying Martin Luther, the Reformation and music?

We look forward to bringing you along with us on our trip and sharing our perspectives with you. Tschüss!
