ABC News: One in Four Read No Books Last Year

ABC News: One in Four Read No Books Last Year: Perhaps another symptom of our infomania is the fact that we more and more can't seem to muster up the energy to tackle reading an actual book. At least us Midwesterners check-in a good 10%+ higher than those East Coasters, but do you find yourself reading less than you did?

For myself, I guess that I probably read as much as I used to (in those pre-Internet days), though the nature of reading has certainly changed. Now I read fewer books, and do much more scanning and web-reading, which sadly doesn't give the same sense of accomplishment that reading a book does. When the book is done, it's done. There's seemingly no end to the web and it's hyperlinks :)
