LIBRARY PROFESSIONAL STAFF MEETING

February 4, 2008, 9:15 a.m., Hovde

Present: Chris, Andi, Ryan, John, Lindy, Germano, Rachel.

John chaired, and will be chairing the spring semester meetings, as Jane is on sabbatical. Kate is taking a class on Mondays at 9:15 and so will need to miss most meetings.

The Monday-Friday daytime and evening Reference schedule was reviewed and will be printed after additions. The weekend schedule is being routed.

John asked about Paideia preparations. Andi had a number of items to inquire about from a meeting she attended last week. These were reviewed. Kate will put the section listings and handouts on the web site.

John will give a budget update at a later meeting. Reminder to get Paideia items ordered.

Concerning the LIS Communication Plan, Chris said an in/out board has been added. He is open for suggestions.

John gave a reminder about the upcoming ILA/ACRL/IPAL meetings. Get registration forms to Jean if you want her to process. It is time for the annual department photo for the yearbook. John will line up a time for this.

EBSCO has notified us regarding a substantial price increase in the subscription to German Quarterly. Germano will consult the department. Because of full-text coverage elsewhere we may cancel this. This may be a project for later in the spring to look at other titles in the same situation.
