What's More Rare Than a Quiet Place to Study?

This week’s Suggestion of the Week appearing on the LIS digital sign in the library :

Suggestion: “Leave the library’s Rare Books Room open as a no-technology study room.”

Response: “We are working on several ideas related to quiet study space in the
library, with a focus on preserving the Upper Floor as a designated
quiet zone. This suggestion will add the idea of creating a
‘technology-free’ quiet study space to our conversation. As part of this
consideration, we are working to create better signage to help identify
the different zones of usage in public spaces throughout the building.
Since the Rare Book Room needs to remain secure because of the items
housed in that collection, it is not considered a public area of the
library space.”
