Rudolf "Bud" Ludvigson, 1944

RUDOLF “BUD” LUDVIGSON of Anoka, Minn., died March 17, 2012, at age 89. Funeral Services were held April 4, 2012 at Servant of Christ Lutheran Church in Champlin, Minn. Bud was born on August 21, 1922 in Lake Mills, Iowa, to Nels and Anna Marie (Stadheim) Ludvigson. He died on March 17, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Coon Rapids, Minn. Bud graduated from Hayfield High School in Hayfield, Minn., in 1940 and attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where he met Norma Davies, of Rochester, Minn. While at Luther, Bud enlisted in the United States Navy from 1943-1946. On Aug. 12, 1944, Bud and Norma were married in Norge, Va., and after completing his military duty, they lived in Kalispell, Mont. In 1950 Bud moved his family to Valley City, N.D., where he opened an accounting practice. He continued studying at the University of North Dakota and earned his CPA in 1961. While residing in Valley City, Bud served on the local school board, marched with the Drum and Bugle Corp, and was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. He also participated in numerous local service groups. In his spare time, Bud enjoyed golfing, music, travel, dancing, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family. Upon his retirement, Bud and Norma began wintering in Tucson and in 1995 relocated to Rochester, Minn., where she passed away on April 4, 2002. Bud continued to winter in Tucson, and met and married Tynne Gurske in 2004. Survivors include his wife, Tynne, of Anoka, Minnesota; three daughters, Ann (George) Hiner of Nevada City, Calif., Karen (Jerry) Romness of Champlin, Minn., and Peg Winters of Fargo, N.D.; two step-daughters, Janice (Wally) Love and Janet (Joe) Rosales, both of Tucson; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Norma, two brothers and three sisters and a grandson. Memorials to the donor's favorite charity are appreciated.
