Betty (Hendrickson) Josephson, 1948

BETTY (HENDRICKSON) JOSEPHSON of Greenwich, Conn., died Dec. 19, 2010, at age 82. She passed peacefully in her sleep on December 19, 2010, at Greenwich Hospital. Born and raised in Decorah, Iowa, she was a graduate of Luther College where she met her late husband, ROBERT M. JOSEPHSON ‘47. They moved their family to Rye in 1963 and made it their home. She was a resident at Greenwich Woods Nursing Home for the past four years. She will be remembered for her gregarious nature and joy for life. She loved playing bridge, cooking and entertaining. She took great pride in her home and made it a hub of social activities for her friends and children. Her Super Bowl meatballs were legendary. She is survived by her children Marc Josephson (Dr. Lynn Josephson) of Rye, Brita Gleason (Thomas) of Westwood, Mass., Thomas Josephson (Maureen) of Port Chester, James Josephson (Elizabeth) of Manlius, NY, and 10 grandchildren, Kristin, Michael, Kurt, Declan, Maxwell, Megan, Henry and Charles Josephson and Alex and Steven Gleason. Her brother, KERMIT T. HENDRICKSON ’48 of Decorah, Iowa, also survives her. A memorial service was held at the Rye Presbyterian Church on Dec. 23, 2010.
