COREY C. MALLOCH of East Lansing, Mich., died March 3, 2012, at age 34. Corey C. Malloch, 34, of East Lansing, Mich., died unexpectedly on March 3, 2012, at his residence at Michigan State University. He was born Feb. 9, 1978, in Manistique, the son of William and Beth (Hull) Malloch. He attended Manistique area schools where he was active in the athletic and band programs, and was a graduate of Manistique High School with the Class of 1996. He continued his education at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. While attending Luther, he played football and was a trackman for the Luther Norse. He received his bachelor's degree from there. He then pursued his master's degree and received it from Saginaw Valley State University. Corey taught middle school in Manitowoc, Wis., for two years. While living in Manitowoc, he was an active member and played Tuba for the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble. He then moved to the country of Dubai where he taught high school and coached athletics for two years. Upon moving back to the U.S., he became a residence hall director (RD) at Saginaw Valley State University for three years and for the past five years, has worked as an RD at Michigan State University, currently living in Snyder Hall. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Manistique. He was an avid Michigan State Sports Fan and hosted many tailgate parties at the university. Corey was fortunate to have enjoyed world travel including, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States. Special to him were his niece and nephew, whom he dearly loved. Corey is survived by his parents, Bill and Beth Malloch of Manistique; sister, ALLISON (MALLOCH) LECLOUX ’98 and her husband, Mike, of Ann Arbor; niece and nephew, Norah and Owen LeCloux; along with his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl and Audrey Malloch; and his maternal grandparents, Merrill and Dorothy Hull. A Memorial Service was held on March 14, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church in Manistique.
