JOHN FISHER of San Diego, Calif., died Feb. 23, 2012, at age 27. John Leif Larson Fisher, better known to us as Johnny, passed out of this life and into eternal life with God on the morning of Feb. 23, 2012, at the age of 27. Born Feb. 19,1985, in Santa Ana, California, he had recently returned to his native state after 17 years in the Midwest. After Wis., Ind., and Iowa, the San Diego weather was nearly as welcome as the proximity to the family he loved dearly. He held and was gifted in a variety of jobs, including most recently private computer consultations, IT support, and tax preparation. His kind and loving patience in explaining (sometimes over and over) how to do things on the computer will be sorely missed. He was passionate about music as well as computers. He started as a small child, taking piano lessons, then moved on to the string bass in middle school orchestra, then the trumpet and tuba in high school band. Once he started choir in middle school, he was hooked on it for life. He made his way through the ranks of the various choirs at Luther College in Iowa. He attended choir rehearsal here at Our Redeemer the night before he passed, capping off an entire day spent at the church performing his Altar Guild duties for Ash Wednesday and providing technical support for a presentation that afternoon. There are so many of us left behind to miss Johnny until we are reunited with him in Heaven. He is survived by his loving parents, Leif and Jennifer; his siblings and their families: Brett, Lauren, Alex and David Fisher; Christian, Tara, Dustin and Jacob Fisher; Eric, Joni, Kristin (Peich), Anna, and Guinevere Fisher; Megan Fisher; Elizabeth and Anthony Hughes; and Justin Fisher. John was also blessed with an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and beloved pets, who will live their lives with a Johnny-shaped hole in their hearts. He made friends wherever he went, and touched so many lives along the way. He was taken from us too soon, but he managed to pack a lot of living into 27 short years.
