CAROLIE BALDER KUEHN, 53, passed away from ovarian cancer on Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Hospice House in Wausau. She was born April 4, 1958, to the late Dr. Roy and Mary Lee Balder and lived in Elroy, throughout her childhood. She received her bachelor's degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and then her Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School. She married her beloved, Robert Kuehn, on Feb. 15, 1986. They have lived their entire married life in Wausau where they have raised their two children, Ben (18) and Elena (14), whom they adore. Carolie is survived by her husband, Robert Kuehn, son, Benjamin Kuehn, daughter, Elena Kuehn all of Wausau; brother, Roy "Chip" (Jan) Balder of Holmen; sisters, Beth (Gary) Balder-Schroeder of Holmen, and Jeanne (Roy) Brock of Onalaska; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Nathlie Kuehn; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron Kuehn, Randy (Cathe) Kuehn, and Rebecca Kuehn; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carolie shared her talents as a Trust Officer at M&I Wealth Management for 24 years. Her clients benefited from her wisdom, compassion, friendship and sense of humor through the years. She was an active member of First United Methodist church where she was long-standing participant in the choral and hand bell choirs. She served on the United Methodist Board of Finance. She was also the Secretary of the Marathon County Bar Association as well as a leader of the local Trusts and Estate Planners Forum for many years. Carolie had a great love of music, an amazing talent for knitting, and a zest for travel. She relished visiting with friends and family, especially during time spent at cottages at Lake Geneva and Lake Arbutus. A celebration of Carolie's life was held Dec. 23, 2011, at First United Methodist, 903 Third St., Wausau, with The Rev. Jerry Morris officiating. Visitation was Dec. 22, 2011, at the Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Norman B.
