RANDALL R. GROSS of Barrington, Ill., died July 17, 2012, age 66. The funeral service was held July 21, 2012, at Lutheran Church of the Atonement, 909 W Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd), Barrington. Born April 26, 1946 in Chicago, he passed away July 17, 2012, in Barrington, Ill. Randy graduated from Mt. Prospect High School in 1964, Luther College in 1968, and later earned his MBA from Northern Illinois University. He worked as a CPA for Culligan and later started his own firm, Randall Gross and Company Ltd. in Barrington. He was a member of the Barrington Lions Club and served as a board member for Friendship Village and Hospice of Northeastern Illinois. Randy served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement. He was an avid reader, loved his work, walks with his dog, Gracie, weekends in Door County, riding bikes and fishing at Anderson Dock in Ephraim, Wis. He is survived by his wife, KAREN J. (KNUTSON) GROSS ‘67, who he married June 21, 1970; sons, MATTHEW GROSS ’99 (SARA UREVIG ‘98), and CHRISTOPHER GROSS ‘01 (Kristin); grandchildren, Oletta Jane and Lucy June Gross and one on the way; sister–in-law, Joan Wolfgram, brothers-in-law, Daniel Wolfgram, Lynn Knutson; niece, Alison (Grant) Wolfgram Duke and one on the way; nephews, Andrew (Liz) Wolfgram, Jay (Maggie) Wolfgram; and cousin, Donald Wiley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Elizabeth (nee Dettmann) Gross, and an aunt, Myrtle Wiley.
