Robert Leroy Steiner, 1965

ROBERT LEROY STEINER, age 68, of Hudson, Wis., passed away unexpectedly from heart complications at his residence on July 14 after spending a beautiful day in the midst of his family. Bob was born on Aug. 1, 1943, to Sylvester and B. Mary (Goff) Steiner in Red Wing, Minn. He graduated from Hudson High School, the class of 1961. After high school, Bob furthered his education at Luther College then obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and economics at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. He was united in marriage on Sept. 4, 1965, to Judy Klecker at the Rock Elm Methodist Church in Rock Elm, Wis. Their marriage was blessed with three sons: Chad, Christopher, and Bobby. Bob served his country in the National Guard for 13 years, obtaining the rank of major. Bob began his career as a case worker at the Stillwater Correctional Facility. He worked several years as probation officer with the Minnesota Department of Corrections and retired as a supervisor for the Ramsey County Court Services completing 38 years, retiring in 2006. Bob relished in the beauty of nature and enjoyed being outdoors. He could always be found working on various projects around the house. Bob is fondly remembered for his great sense of humor at home and at work. He was a man of true gratitude as a kidney transplant recipient in 2008. Bob was a dedicated family man and cherished his time with his wife of 47 years, children, and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. Bob will remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Judy; son, Chad (Jennifer) Steiner of North Hudson; daughter-in-law and daughter-at-heart, Jami Steiner (Steve) Flaten of North Hudson; son, Bobby (Kathleen) Steiner of Chicago; grandchildren C.J., Alivia, Payton, Logan, Paige, and Heavenleigh; and sister, Pat Cameron and family of Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher Robert Steiner (29 years old); and grandson Gabriel (10-1/2 weeks old). A memorial service honoring Bob’s life was held July 21, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 920 Third St., Hudson, with Pastor Dennis Nelson officiating.
