LYNN SORBO, 84, passed away Oct. 18, 2012, at Kindred Hospital, in Henderson, Nev. Lynn was born on a farm in Worth County, Iowa, to Selmer and Bertha Sorbo, Oct. 10, 1928. He received his bachelor’s degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 1952. That same year, Lynn married Ardis Thompson at Salem Lutheran Church, in Lake Mills, Iowa. Lynn and Ardis moved to Mound, Minn., in 1955, where he taught science for 33 years. They were residents of Henderson for the last 14 years. He enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and singing in the church choir. He is survived by his wife, of nearly 60 years, Ardis; five children, Allen, Tom, Pam, Kevin and Scott; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held Oct. 23, 2012, at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave. with Pastor Mark Wickstorm officiating. Burial services in Mound are pending.
