NORMAN T. ROSHOLT of Decorah (formerly of Brooklyn Center, Minn.) died Oct. 28, 2012, age 88. He was a Captain in the Air Force and a B-17 Pilot in World War II. Completed 31 1/2 missions and was shot down and taken as a prisoner of war. He was Minnesota State Commander of Ex-Prisoners of War form 1999 to 2001 and Commander of Twin Cities Chapter of the American Military Order of the Purple Heart 2002-2004. Norman graduated from Luther College and received the Distinguished Service Award from Luther in 2010. He was employed by Lutheran Brotherhood for Systems Development for 36 years. Preceded in death by parents, CARL ROSHOLT ’06 and Edith; step-mother, Amalia; brother, JERRY ROSHOLT ’48, and grandfather, TOLLEF ROSHOLT, Luther Class of 1868. Survived by wife of 63 years, Darlene; children, SUSAN (ROSHOLT) SCHUMANN ’71, GREG ROSHOLT ’73 (SUE (TEIG) ROSHOLT ’73), BRUCE ROSHOLT ’73, JAN (ROSHOLT) TSCHANTZ ’76; (Mike Tschantz) grandchildren, Erik (Faith) Schumann, LEAH SCHUMANN ’03, BEN ROSHOLT ’03 (Meghan), Peter Rosholt, Luke Tschantz, Molly Tschantz, Emily (Adam) Franklin; great-grandchildren, Noah, Isaac, Elsie. Visitation was at Evans Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center. Memorial Service was held at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, 5929 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center, with interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
