Marjory Ann (Womeldorf) Davis, 1949

MARJORY ANN (WOMELDORF) DAVIS, of Lynden, Wash., went home to her Lord on Monday, August 27, 2012 at age 85. She was born to Fred and Freda (Josvanger) Womeldorf on March 25, 1927 in Decorah, Iowa, where she grew up. She was married to NEAL DAVIS ’48 on Dec. 28, 1947. Neal and Marjory raised their children in Canby, Waseca, Owatonna and Rochester, Minn. A lifelong Lutheran, she was actively involved in church ladies' groups and helped sponsor Hmong refugees in the United States following the Vietnam War. In retirement, Neal and Marjory moved to Wenatchee, Wash. Neal passed away in 1996. Marjory moved to Lynden in 2007 to be near family. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Neal; infant grandson, Tyler Falk; sister, Dorothy Lund, and a brother, F. HOWARD WOMELDORF ‘51; Marjory is survived by her daughter Cindy (Dana) Petersen of Lynden and their children Melissa (Jason), Steve (Becky), Lael (Josh), Chris, Sean, Becky and Scott; daughter Jean Davis (Doug Arrington) of Georgetown, Tex., and her daughter Ashlyn; son Frank (Sue) Davis of Albany, Ore., and children Stephanie and Neal; son PAUL DAVIS ‘83 (Gaye) of Lynden, and children Ren, Mariah and Sierra; great-grandchildren Ben, Aaron, Katelyn, Heidi and Julia; sisters FRANCES (WOMELDORF) JEFFERS ’61, of Spokane, Wash., and Kathryn Sanders of Hayden, Idaho. Memorial services were held Sept. 1, 2012, at Hope Lutheran Church, 900 E. Grover St., in Lynden, Wash., with Pastor Joel Lohafer officiating.
