Rev. Bruce M. Hobert, 63, of Mount Dora, Fla., passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013.

Born in Charles City, Iowa, he moved to Mount Dora in 2001 from Cresco, Iowa. He was a Lutheran Minister. His first parish was Chetek Lutheran Church, Chetek, Wis., from 1976-1979; Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton, Iowa, and St. John Lutheran Church, Boyd, Iowa, from 1979-1994; Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cresco, Iowa, from 1994-2001; and lastly at St. Philip Lutheran Church, Mount Dora, Fla., from 2001-2010 when he retired. He was currently a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Longwood, Fla.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 40 years, Liz (RICHTER) Hobert ‘72, Mount Dora, Fla.; son, Nathan B. (Amanda) Hobert, Madison, Wis.; daughter, Karissa E. (Jason) Miller, Bradenton, Fla.; brother, Brent Hobert, Waverly, Iowa; sister, Barbara Barnett, Charles City, Iowa; four grandchildren, Hannah, Grace, Sam & Elise.

Services were held at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Longwood, on May 13, 2013. The family received friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on May 12, 2013.
