Carol Dianne Kyle-Twyman was born on November 17, 1947, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lowell W. and Marvel M. Kyle and was spirited away by the Lord from her last residence in Burke, Virginia, on April 6, 2013. 

Carol was educated in the Rochester Minnesota public school system from kindergarten through the 12th grade. She later attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where she earned her BACHELOR OF ARTS degree in 1969. Carol always wanted to help the inner-city children; so after her college became a teacher within the Washington D.C. public school system where she started teaching at the lower-grades and then progressively taught through the senior grade levels.  She worked at (Gibbs), Peabody, Scott Montgomery, Turner, and Francis-Stevens school in the District of Columbia just to name a few.

She continued her education by obtaining her MASTERS' degree in Legal Studies from Antioch University in Washington, D.C.  Carol was continually motivated by human rights issues, and in her later years within the school; system, she enlisted in the Washington Teacher's Union (WTU) and served as executive secretary for the union for many years. She also served, at various times, with the Democratic Party in the Bill Clinton and Barack Obama presidential campaigns. Carol was also a contributor to the "Habitat for the Humanities", and the "St. Jude" organizations.

In her passing, Carol leaves behind to cherish her memories are her devoted husband, Roland R. Twyman, her loving son, Eddie Kyle, her sister, Mona Kyle, and her brother-in law, James Carr, her sister, Marvel Kyle Jr., her brother and sister-in-law, Donald & Beverly Kyle, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind a strong legacy of devoted Outstanding Performance by a teachers city-wide seven years in a row.
