Dorothy (Missal) Kloock, 1948

Dorothy (Missal) Kloock age 88, of West Des Moines, formerly of Ames died Sunday April 7, 2013 at Fountain West Care Center. A gathering time was held April 12 with a celebration of life memorial service at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames.

Dorothy was born in Hancock County Iowa on the family farm the daughter of Fred and Lydia (Fritz) Missal. She graduated from Garner High School and attended Luther College. During WWII she taught school on an emergency teacher's certificate. Dorothy married Dean Kloock May 25, 1947 in Garner, Iowa. The couple lived in Sibley, Clear Lake, Fredericksburg and at Holiday Lake in Brooklyn. Dorothy worked at Manatt's Construction for 20 years. Being avid Cyclone fans, Dorothy and Dean decided to move to Ames after retirement. Dorothy was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames, American Legion Auxiliary and a member of PEO for over 55 years.

Dorothy is survived by; sons, Danny Kloock ‘71 (Glynace) of Omaha and David Kloock ’74 (Kim St. Pierre) of Urbandale; three grandchildren: Zachary (Mickelle) Kloock, Nathan (Adrienne) Kloock and Dr. Kirsten (Victor Ha) Kloock; and four great grandchildren: Addison, Mickinlee, Nora and Miles Kloock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dean, and a brother, Donald Missal.
