Virginia Strauss

Dr. Virginia Strauss has taught violin and chamber music at Luther College (Decorah, Iowa, USA) since 1975. Her teachers have included David Schneider, Paul Zukofsky, and Leonard Posner, former Concert Master of the MBC Radio Symphony Orchestra under Toscanini. Ms. Strauss in an active recitalist and a founding member of the Oneota Chamber Players, an ensemble which is heard on public radio and television, as well as in live performances throughout the United States. She also performs as Concertmaster of the La Crosse (Wis.) Symphony Orchestra. Professor Strauss is coeditor with her husband, Dr. John F. Strauss, of over a dozen works by Johann Baptist Vanhal, Georg Friedrich Fuchs, and Johann Nepomuk Hummel for publishers Doblinger and H. Anderle (Vienna, Austria), and of the complete chamber music of Walter Rabl for A-R Editions (USA).
