Maryna Bazlevych and Brittany Anderson Present at Conference

Maryna Bazylevych and Brittany Anderson co-presented a paper at the Society for the Applied Anthropology Meeting in Vancouver, Canada on March 31st. Entitled "Fire into Flame: Categories of Risk among Young People in Ukraine," this presentation completes their 2 year collaborative project on imaginaries of good health among Ukrainian youth sponsored by Nena Amundson Distinguished Professorship.

Maryna Bazylevych and Brittany Anderson conducted research about health and wellness among young women and men in Ukraine in summer 2015. The project focused on understanding the ways in which young people imagined wellbeing for themselves, their partners, and their households in a state of emergency in the country, and the routes they took to secure good health, as well as the sources of knowledge that informed their behaviors.
