This January Term study abroad course introduces students to the culture of Cuba firsthand. In addition to language and culture instruction at the University of Havana, students live with host families, participate in cultural activities and guided visits to sites that illustrate the diverse cultural history of the country. Two full-day excursions include a visit to Las Terrazas, a small sustainable mountain community and nature reserve, and the city of Matanzas. This course satisfies the immersion requirement for the Spanish minor as well as the all-college intercultural requirement.
