Welcome to the Luther College Trumpet Studio! Under the direction of Dr. John T. Cord, the Luther College Trumpet Studio is one of the most vibrant and active trumpet studios in the country. Representing all corners of the nation and a wide variety of academic majors, studio members receive a world class musical experience participating in our outstanding wind bands, orchestras, large and small jazz ensembles and a wide variety of chamber ensembles and solo performance opportunities. Whether you’re an aspiring professional musician going for a career in performance, teaching, production, publishing etc. or simply someone looking for a place to pursue your particular academic interest while also staying active as a trumpet player, Luther is the perfect fit for you! We have substantial music scholarships available for all students, whether you plan to major in music or not.
