Presidential Search

On June 13, 2018, Dr. Paula J. Carlson, the 10th president of Luther College, announced her plan to retire from Luther College effective at the end of the 2018-19 academic year.

The Board of Regents has launched a national search process to identify President Carlson’s successor to begin serving Luther in the summer of 2019.

Bob Paulson, vice chair of the Board of Regents and chair of the Institutional Planning & Board Affairs committee, will lead the presidential search process and chair the search committee.

Luther College has retained Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, a nationally known and highly respected higher education executive search firm, to work with the presidential search committee and the Board of Regents. Julie E. Tea, a partner, and Kenna Boyd, an associate, with Storbeck/Pimentel will facilitate our process and assist the search committee in developing and making its recommendation to the Board of Regents.
