Greetings from Kilimanjaro! Your Tanzania J-Term 2017 crew has arrived safe and sound (and a little jet-lagged) to the country we will be exploring for the next few weeks! Both of our flights went by without a hitch, and after some quizzing in Swahili and Maa, we are ready for the journey ahead.

Stepping off the plane, I was struck by how dark and windy it was. The warm breeze reminded me that it is summer in Tanzania, and we are all prepared to sweat. Once through customs, we loaded into a bus towards the Vijiji Lodge. It is beautiful and as we unloaded, we were welcomed by such friendly staff. Now it is off to bed!

Tomorrow morning's agenda includes breakfast, a language lesson, and history lesson, followed by an afternoon trip to Arusha. Salaam!
