The Donald B. Banks Memorial Scholarship, established by Carol (Lewerer) Banks '69 in honor and in memory of Donald B. Banks, alumnus, class of 1968. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students majoring in chemistry, with a demonstrated need for financial assistance, who have maintained a GPA of 2.5 or higher. If a qualified chemistry student cannot be determined, this scholarship shall be awarded to an equally excellent student majoring in physics.

The Karl O. Borge Burger King Corporation Scholarship, established by the Burger King Corporation in recognition of the academic and athletic achievements of Karl Borge '96, to be awarded to qualified students with financial need, with preference given to students who are majoring in biology or chemistry.

The Renee (Anderson) and Charles S. Brown Jr. Scholarship, established by Renee (Anderson) '72 and Charles Brown, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance. First preference shall be given to students majoring or minoring in biology, with second preference given to students majoring or minoring in chemistry.

The Adrian M. Docken Endowed Fund for Chemistry, established by friends and grateful students wishing to honor Adrian M. Docken and his contribution to chemistry education, shall be awarded to senior students majoring in chemistry who are planning to attend graduate school and have demonstrated excellence in the field of chemistry as an undergraduate. Announcement of this award shall be made during the spring semester of the junior year.

The Dr. Herman E. Ellingson Scholarship, established by Dinniemaud Ellingson in honor of her husband, Herman Ellingson, class of 1924, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance majoring in mathematics or the physical sciences.

The Michael T. Feldmann Burger King Corporation Scholarship, established by the Burger King Corporation in recognition of the academic and athletic achievements of Michael Feldmann '98, to be awarded to qualified chemistry, physics, or math students with need for financial assistance with preference given to students from Alburnett High School or from a small town.

The Paul G. and Hazel H. Hoel Scholarship in Mathematics and Science, established by Paul '26 and Hazel Hoel, shall be awarded to qualified sophomores or juniors, chosen by the faculty, majoring in mathematics, chemistry, or physics.

The Robert S. Jacobsen Scholarship, established by the friends and family of Robert Jacobsen '37 in recognition of his forty-nine years of teaching at Luther College. Recipients shall be students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance and are participating in programs of study leading to majors in mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, or computer science.

The Ole G. Landsverk Scholarship, established by Douglas Lohafer '77 in honor of the pioneering work in health physics by Dr. Ole G. Landsverk '24. Ole G. Landsverk '24, was one of the five persons to establish the profession of health physics at the University of Chicago, Metallurgical Laboratory in 1943. The scholarship shall be awarded to majors in biology, chemistry, physics, or mathematics selected by the academic heads. Eligible recipients must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, have junior or senior status, and be able to pursue graduate study. One of the selection criteria should be a preference for a student demonstrating interest in a field closely related to radiological protection. This includes but is not limited to: health physics, radiological physics, public health, radiation biology, environmental science, and nuclear engineering. Recipients must also have an interest in the humanities.

The Mark Magnuson/Lucile Houseworth Current Scholarship, established by Mark Magnuson '75 and Lucile Houseworth, shall be awarded to qualified students majoring in chemistry, physics, biology, and/or computer science, and is not based on financial need.

The Carleton A. Sperati Memorial Scholarship, established by Solveig Sperati Korte '74 in memory of her father, Carleton A. Sperati '38, Ph.D., chemist and musician. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified chemistry majors who are participating in some music organization on campus, with first preference given to chemistry majors who are members of the Luther College Concert Band.
