The Accenture Scholarship, formerly the Anderson Consulting Scholarship, shall be awarded to a junior student with a 3.0 or greater cumulative grade point average and a major in one of the following: computer science, MIS, management, economics, or math.

The David J. and Sherry B. Alcock Family Scholarship, established by Sherry (Braun) Alcock '82 in memory of her husband Dave Alcock. The scholarship shall be awarded to upper-class students based on academic merit without regard to financial need. First preference shall be given to education majors, with second preference to computer science majors.

The Dalen-Miller Scholarship, established by Bradley '86 and Jane (Dalen) Miller '86 in honor of their parents; Len Dalen '51, a high school business teacher and coach, Betty Dalen, who drove countless miles to support her children's athletic activities, Norman Miller, a business teacher and school superintendent, and Rebecca Miller, a stay-at-home mom until taking a job to support Brad's education at Luther. The scholarship shall alternate each year between returning (sophomore-senior) computer science and accounting students who show evidence of financial need, and who have been involved in extra-curricular activities at Luther.

The Entre Information Systems Current Scholarship for Computer Science and Management Information Systems shall be awarded to a highly qualified student with a major in either computer science or MIS who can show evidence of need for financial assistance.

The Jim Field Scholarship, established by Jim Field '54 in recognition of the significant influence Professors Herbert Rebassoo, Emil Miller, Orlando "Pip" Qualley, and Coach Hamlet "Pete" Peterson had on the value of Jim's Luther experience. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students with financial need with preference given to students majoring in mathematics, computer science and education.

The Patrick and Amy (Michaelson) Igou '91 Scholarship, established by Amy (Michaelson) '91 and Patrick Igou, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance. Preference shall be given to students majoring in business and/or computer science.

The John L. Jones Scholarship, established by Robert '78 and Eric Jones in memory of their father, John L. (Jack) Jones '50. Jack grew up in Garnavillo and considered his Luther education and experience to be the pivotal time in his life that made him a later success in business. His Luther education provided him with the foundation he needed to participate in designing and constructing the first electronic computer, UNIVAC, and to participate in the creation of the first universal computer programming language, COBOL. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified Iowa students in need of financial assistance majoring in computer science or mathematics, who have grown up on an Iowa farm or in an Iowa farming community, with first preference given to students from Garnavillo, Iowa, or Clayton County, Iowa.

The Kurt E. Maalo Scholarship, established by the estate of Sterling '50 and Vila (Kiel) Thompson '51, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance with preference given to students studying computer science.

The Ryan Stroschein Computer Science Scholarship, established by Ryan Stroschein '99, shall be awarded to an outstanding junior majoring in computer science. The scholarship recognizes well-rounded students, excelling in the computer science field, as well as extra-curricular activities or study within other departments. Secondary consideration is given based on financial need.

The Edward O. Thorland Memorial Prize in Computer Science, established by the Thorland family, former students and friends, to be given to outstanding junior computer science majors. Dr. Thorland '64, became the computer center director in 1970 and was largely responsible for the establishment of the computer science major in 1975.

The Walter E.S. Will Scholarship in Computer Science, established by alumni and friends in honor of Dr. Walter E.S. Will, professor emeritus of mathematics and computer science. Professor Will began at Luther in 1972 and designed and taught many of the early classes in computer science. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance in their sophomore, junior, or senior year, and who are majoring in computer science.
