A student-curated exhibit, "From Parlor to Countryside: Recent Fine Arts Collection Print Acquisitions," will open Thursday, October 5, in the Luther College Union Gallery. Hannah Bergstedt, a Luther junior, curated the exhibit as part of her Luther College Work Study opportunity. The exhibit, open to the public with no charge of admission, will be on display through December 4.

Featuring select prints donated to the Luther College Fine Arts Collection during 2017 by John and Leone Suttie, and Emeriti Professor Wilfred Bunge and Ruth Bunge, "From Parlor to Countryside" reflects a diversity of subject matter. Print themes include pastoral scenes of the countryside, portraits in the parlor and views inspired by Wittenberg Castle in Germany. The exhibition includes lithographs, etchings and woodcuts by a wide range of artists including John Steuart Curry, Camille Pissaro, Grant Wood, Thomas Hart Benton, Henri De Toulouse-Lautrec and others.

The Fine Arts Collection currently contains more than 1,600 pieces ranging from ca. 500 BCE to the present, representing a variety of media forms.
