Message from Campus Safety and Security
In December, the Luther community was alerted to an incident in Miller Hall that resulted in the suspect, Victor Hasvold, being arrested and charged with Invasion of Privacy, Trespassing and an Iowa Sex Offender Registry violation. He has been in the Winneshiek County Jail since his arrest. On Jan. 7, Hasvold had his parole revoked. As a result, he will be returned to a state prison for a period of up to two years. Luther College Campus Safety and Security served Hasvold with a no trespass order that is in effect throughout his prison sentence and after it concludes.
Luther College is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment where all members of the community—students, faculty, staff and visitors—are treated with respect and dignity. Therefore, the college will not tolerate sexual misconduct in any form.

Curriculum revision conversations for faculty
The Curriculum Revision Task Force has two opportunities scheduled for faculty conversation. Save these dates to join the CRTF in the CRH to talk about ideas and provide feedback: 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, and 9:40-10:50 a.m.Tuesday, April 23. There are also plans to have additional opportunities for conversation with staff and students.
Mental health first aid training for faculty
Faculty are invited to receive mental health first aid training 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, with an hour lunch on their own, in Olin 112. Manuals are provided by the Counseling Service. LyndaCampus purchased
Luther has purchased a three-year subscription of the campus-wide Lynda.com product called LyndaCampus. All faculty, staff and students should visit lynda.luther.edu and sign in with their Norse Key username and password to access this service. As they say on their website, "Learn a new skill online, on your time. There are 6,401 courses in business, technology and creative skills taught by industry experts." Book Shop news
First class stamp price increase
The cost of a stamp will increase from 50 cents to 55 cents Sunday, Jan. 27. This is a good time to buy ahead since the Book Shop carries Forever Stamps. Stamps can be purchased for 50 cents each and used anytime, even after a price increase. For large departmental purchases, please email <bookshopweb> with your order before Wednesday, January 23.

TIAA on campus
TIAA announces individual counseling sessions 11:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6; 8:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, and 8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8. Space is limited. Register online or by calling (800) 732-8353 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday-Friday. Sessions are in Main 30.
Lactation room
For those in need of a lactation room, there is a lactation room located in a private space in Valders 247E. It offers a window, table, comfortable chair and electrical outlets. The lactation room is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. If the room is locked, please contact Tracy Elsbernd at the front desk of the Nursing Department, Valders 243. Sinks are available in the nursing department office, Valders 243, and in the lab area. Email Angela Kueny, <oldenban>, with any questions or concerns.

Free Friday morning open gyms
Wellness has partnered with Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission and NE Iowa Food & Fitness to offer free Friday morning open gyms this winter. Parents and children age newborn to five years can join Wellness 10:30-11:30 a.m. Fridays, Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22, for some open gym fun inside the Regents Center East Gym. There is no admission fee, and balls, scooters, etc. will be provided. Contact Wellness, <wellness>, with questions.
Center for Sustainable Communities needs volunteers
The goal of Luther's Cafeteria to Community Program ensures that good food makes it to the plates of those who need it. Through this program, student coordinators work with dining services staff to package food into quart-sized containers that are labeled and delivered to the Northeast Iowa Food Pantry. Over 50,000 pounds of food have been donated since 2013. Sign up to volunteer on a Sunday or Wednesday evening. Contact Toby, <cainto01>, with questions.

A master's degree or equivalent education/experience is preferred as well as two years of experience providing career coaching and/or counseling.
