Edison-Albright appointed college pastor
President Carlson announced the appointment of Anne Edison-Albright as college pastor at Luther. She will join College Pastor Mike Blair in Luther's Office for College Ministries starting Aug. 15.
"Pastor Edison-Albright brings gifts as a preacher, educator and writer to her ministry in the Luther community as well as a deep commitment to the witness of the church in the world," said President Carlson. "I look forward to welcoming her to our vibrant community of faith and learning."
Jessica Paul granted faculty emerita status
At their May 13-14 meeting, the Board of Regents granted faculty emerita status to Jessica Paul, professor of music, who retires this spring after 30 years at Luther. Congratulations, Jessica!

Student Leadership Awards presented May 1
The Launching Luther Leaders program announced the recipients of the sixth annual Student Leadership Awards at their banquet held Sunday, May 1, in Peace Dining Room. James Garcia-Prats, men's assistant soccer coach, began the award presentation with a speech titled, "The Sweet Potato and Leadership." The awards honor individuals and groups for their contribution to the college's mission of service.

Fiscal year end approaching
Outstanding travel expense reports, original invoices, supporting purchase orders and purchase permits or account adjustments should be sent to the Office for Financial Services by Friday, June 10, to be included in the fiscal year 2015-16 budget. Luther's Center for Sustainable Communities is a partner in the Winneshiek County Driftless Safari program. Join in this free scavenger hunt for all ages and abilities and enjoy a summer of discovering some of the best natural, cultural and historic treasures Winneshiek County has to offer. Head to your local Winneshiek County public library to pick up your free materials or visit www.driftless-safari.org for more information. Coordinated by Winneshiek County Conservation, the safari runs from Memorial Day through Halloween.

Retirements
Khiam Sayasenh, who has worked at Luther for 15 years, has announced her retirement effective May 30. Thank you, Khiam, for your dedicated service to the college.
New positions
Luther's Publications and Design office will be under new management as of June 1. Michael Bartels will become director of publications and design as Ellen Modersohn transitions to a part-time role at her request. Michael brings 12 years of graphic design experience at Luther and this new position will allow him to expand his role as a creative director. Ellen will continue to write and edit for publications and other printwork produced by the office and will remain the editor of the Luther Alumni Magazine.
Adelmo Ciucci '14 started his position as wide receivers and assistant strength coach May 17. His office is Regents Center 16, telephone 387-1724.
Job openings
Associate registrar: The Registrar's Office seeks an associate registrar for an 11-month position (.92 FTE). The associate registrar prepares and implements processes that support the academic program, including preparation and maintenance of academic records, registration and degree audit; executes academic policies as approved by the faculty; serves as technology liaison between the Registrar's Office and Information Technology Services; fulfills compliance responsibilities; and serves as primary assistant to the Registrar. A bachelor's degree, minimum of three years experience in student information database management in a higher education setting, and an understanding of a liberal arts college curriculum are required. Priority given to applications submitted by June 10.
Brandt Hall director: Residence Life seeks a professional, live-in residence hall director for Brandt Hall, responsible for supporting the mission of the college by developing a community conducive to student learning and academic success. This is a 10-month (.83 FTE) position. The Brandt Hall director will work with a population of approximately 330 first-year residents and 16 resident assistants. Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred. Position begins Aug. 1, 2016.

Earlier this spring in Münster, Germany, Robert Christman offered a public lecture sponsored by International Center of the University of Münster and the Humboldt-Club Münsterland. The title of his presentation was "The Antwerp Augustinians: Life and Death on the Front Lines of the Reformation."
New retiree Ginger Meyette plans to rest and relax, at least for a little while. Ginger and her wife Lynda will be moving to Massachusetts later this summer. Ginger is keeping her eyes open for adjunct or field positions at various colleges and universities, social work positions in social service agencies, and other jobs that don't involve homework. Lynda has accepted a call to serve as minister at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Northborough, Massachusetts. Her ordination will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Decorah Congregational United Church of Christ with UCC and UU ministers and friends participating in the service.
Trish Neubauer, coordinator of Student Activities and the Union, is the 2016 recipient of the Outstanding Student Advisor award. Awarded to an advisor who demonstrates exceptional leadership, encouragement and support on behalf of his or her group or organization at Luther, the Outstanding Student Advisor award was presented to Trish at the Leadership Awards Banquet on Sunday, May 1. She has been the coordinator for Luther's Student Activities Council since 1981.
Katherine Salazar '17, and Rachel Shaffer '17, received a Karen Julesberg Scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year. The $1,000 scholarship, created by Karen Julesberg '60, benefits Luther students involved in the TRIO Achievement Program. TRIO is a federally-funded program providing holistic, individualized support and comprehensive programming that promotes students' academic success, personal development and sense of community.
