TIAA-CREF consultations July 11-13

A TIAA-CREF advisor will offer individual counseling sessions on the following days:

Monday, July 11: 1-5 p.m.
Tuesday, July 12: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 13: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. 

Space is limited. Register online or call (800) 732-8353 between 8 a.m.-8 p.m. ET, Monday-Friday. Sessions will be held in the Financial Aid conference room, Main 27. 

New on the TIAA website

Visit the TIAA website on a regular basis. TIAA's Luther College microsite was updated with a new look and feel on June 24. It offers enhanced functionality including a more simple design and content, automated plan details and more engaging tools like the "Insights Wizard" and a paycheck calculator.

Also on the TIAA website, read "What to do—and what not to do—when markets get shaky."

Legends Center closed for cleaning

The Legends Fitness for Life Center is closed for cleaning through July 8. The Legends Center will re-open at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 9.

Wellness water challenge

In honor of National Hydration Day, which was June 23, Wellness is hosting a week-long wellness water challenge. Click here for details and to register by noon Friday, July 8. This week-long challenge will start Sunday, July 10, and end Saturday, July 16. Data shows that up to 75 percent of Americans are chronically dehydrated, which can cause health issues, so let's get hydrated and learn some facts about healthy hydration this week. Participants who meet their personal hydration goals will be eligible for some hydration-related incentives. Email <wellness> with any questions.

Luther Soccer Mini Camp July 25-28

The Luther Soccer Mini Camp for children ages 4-7 will be held July 25-28. The camp provides tremendous instruction from a quality staff with a love for the "beautiful game." Mini camp introduces beginning soccer skills and develops mini-campers' soccer ability. More information is available on Luther's Sports Camps website.

Luther Soccer Instructional Camp July 25-28

The Luther Soccer Instructional Camp, for children ages 8-14, will be held July 25-28. The camp offers top-quality instruction for players from Iowa and throughout the Midwest. The camp enables players to learn basic techniques and tactics of the game in an atmosphere of positive encouragement and support, while advanced players receive collegiate-level training. CSA farm tour and potluck July 7

Patchwork Green Farm invites members of the Luther community to tour the farm and enjoy a potluck dinner on Thursday, July 7 at 3031 Middle Hesper Road, Decorah. The tour will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the potluck at 7 p.m. There will be tents for shade, a serving table, and water will be available. To Kerri Mahr and family on the death of Kerri's mother-in-law, Lila Mahr, of Waukon, who passed away June 29. Funeral services were held July 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dorchester.

Custodial staff: Full-time Regents Center custodian. General custodial responsibilities include overall appearance of assigned building, including lobbies, entrances, classrooms, offices, hallways, break rooms, auditoriums, SRC, conference rooms, staircases, restrooms and shower rooms. Hours will generally be 2-10 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday. Must be able to work with little supervision, complete work thoroughly and promptly, and be self-motivated. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Regional admissions counselor: Full-time admissions counselor to be based in Des Moines, Iowa. Primary responsibilities of the position include coordinating the recruitment of students from Des Moines and southern Iowa. Extensive travel is required, and the successful candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends when appropriate. Candidates must be currently based in the Des Moines area, or be willing to relocate to the area at the time of employment. The counselor will work from an office at home when not traveling. Bachelor's degree is required as well as excellent oral and written communication skills, some computer knowledge, and the ability to make public presentations. Applicants must also have a valid driver's license. Previous experience in admissions or a related field is preferred, and an appreciation for residential, liberal arts colleges is helpful.

Alumni administrative and records assistant: The Alumni Office seeks a full-time administrative and records assistant. Successful candidate will perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the Alumni Office. This position calls for the ability to multi-task along with strong attention to detail and organizational skills. High school diploma and at least one to two years of post-high school education required. Two or more years of office-related experience and computer knowledge is necessary. 

International Admissions and Diversity Center assistant: The Center for Global Learning (CGL) and the Diversity Center seek a .90 FTE assistant to provide administrative support to the executive director of the Center for Global Learning and Diversity Center programs. Duties include: manage the Diversity Center office, including all communication with international students and others; organize programs and events; serve as the point person for study abroad insurance enrollment; serve as "on-duty" staff for monitoring Luther's risk intelligence system for global issues; act as the designated official for the federal government's Student and Exchange Visitor Information System; prepare I-20s and I-901 fee receipts; assist students who need visas, and edit and update the International Admissions, CGL and Diversity Center websites.
