COLLEGE OPERATIONS

AM 1240 changing formatting

As of Wednesday, Sept. 24, KDEC AM 1240 will become Good Time Oldies 1240 KDEC. This is a format of rock-n-roll hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Because of this format change, we are no longer able to run Luther Chapel on KDEC. We are proud of the partnership over the many years between KWLC and KDEC in offering this programming to our audience and we are hoping that, in this digital age, interested listeners will still be able to still hear chapel online at luther.edu either as a stream from Luther or as a podcast later. However Luther chooses to proceed with Luther Chapel, we are grateful for the time we've been able to offer this programming at KDEC.

-Jennifer Grouws, KDEC station manager

LIS updates and announcements new this fall

In an effort to concisely convey important service and system updates, LIS publishes a list of notices each semester for the Luther community. Here is what is new this fall from LIS. To keep up with announcements throughout the year, please visit the LIS Blog at https://www2.luther.edu/lis/blog/ or subscribe to our weekly newsletter This Week in LIS at https://www2.luther.edu/lis/blog/twilis/.

Have you seen me?

The Luther College Fine Arts Collection has completed our full-campus Art Inventory. Each week we'll feature one work of art that isn't where we thought it would be in hopes that the larger Luther community can assist in locating the work. This week, we feature a large Goose that we're sure is stuck in some back room somewhere. Can you help us out? Check out the link and if you have seen the work lately, please contact Kate Elliott, <ellika03>.

Faculty are welcome to assign sessions at the SDC prior to speeches or group presentations in their classes, however appointments or prior arrangements are preferred if large numbers will be coming to the center.

Attention work study supervisors

Please assist with the October student payroll.  Time cards must be approved by supervisors no later than noon on Friday, Oct. 3. Students still have until midnight on Oct. 2 to sign their cards. This is a short time frame in which to approve cards. This has to happen in order for us to process payroll and submit it to the bank before the Columbus Day holiday. If unavailable to sign time cards on Oct. 3, please make arrangements with an alternate supervisor to sign the time cards.
